If you are a small or large business owner, A Carnival Operator coming thru the area, a Funnel Cake or other type of mobile foodservice trailer owner, a Church, School, or (you get the picture), anyone that has used or new vegetable oil to dispose of. We will be happy to come by your location and pick it up for free.
Email us for directions to our small rural facility in Fountain Inn, South Carolina. We are only one mile off of highway 385.
We can provide a resealable 55 gallon drum to your location but we can not pump your used oil from the commercial "Brown Bin" style oil containers if you currently have one at your location. These "Brown Bins" are the property of large scale Commercial Grease Rendering and Collection businesses that make a profit from the oil you otherwise throw away. Our members are strongly discouraged against taking oil from these containers, even with the business owners permission. Once the oil is in the Big Brown Bin, it is technically the property of the commercial outfit that provided you with the bin.
Most of our members have found it to be easier to collect the oil in the original 35 pound, 5 gallon container it was delivered to you in. These smaller containers are easier to manage, resealable, and most importantly, when resealed properly, they are air and water tight and avoid rain water and pest contamination. If you decide to donate to one of our Co-Op members, please remember; WATER is our biggest contaminant. Please do not include fryer flush water with your donated oil. It is not impossible for us to remove, but it is easier to process if we don't have a lot of it to begin with.
If you wish to donate your used fryer oil / vegetable oil to one of our Co-Op members. We can provide laminated signage for your oil collection area that clearly identifies your site as a Co-Op contributor. This signage will provide our Co-Op contact info along with an emergency pickup number you can call if your container is getting close to capacity.
Do you drive a diesel powered vehicle?
Do you drive a converted diesel that can run on SVO or WVO (search on "grease car")?
Do you want to run on virtually free fuel?
Send us an email, we will respond with membership details ASAP.
We are currently accepting contributing members .
Contributing members are defined as those who collect and donate veg oil in exchange for a pre-determined ratio of finished product. Contributing members are not required to actively participate in the reaction process but can get involved if interested after signing a personal injury and liability waiver (Hey, these chemicals will hurt you if you aren't careful. Unfortunately, accidents do happen).
The current exchange rate accounts for average water content of the donated veg oil (which of course has to be removed from the process), average waste glycerine which is a normal part of the reaction/separation process, and chemical cost (Potassium Hydroxide and Methanol), machine processing time (labor hours) and equipment maintenance.
Currently we are able to exchange about one gallon of finished product BioDiesel/Bio Heating Oil for every 4 gallons of veg oil contributed.
For dewatered and filtered WVO/SVO for use in vehicles modified to run on unconverted veg oil, the exchange ratio is a little closer to an even swap. But we still have to factor in electricity, equipment maintenance, filtering and dewatering. Currently we are able to exchange about 3 gallons of finished product WVO for every 4 gallons of veg oil contributed.
If we are out of finished product at the time you are dropping off veg oil, don't worry, we keep a log book, and you will have credit on the books for any finished product owed to you.
We do not sell finished product to Co-Op members or to the public. No money will be accepted for finished product BioDiesel, Bio Heating Oil, or WVO. All finished product is distributed based on the non-monetary rates listed above. This is what makes us a true Co-Op, where the Contributing Members are the success of the Co-Op. With out you, there is no Co-Op.
If you are contributing Vegetable Oil in any way, or you are a sponsoring business or even a generous individual that has donated something to us at one time or another, We will be happy to honor you on our Community Eco-Partner page. Just send us an email notifying us that you want to be listed in this manner and we will be pleased to list you. If one of our Co-Op members is getting oil from you, and you are contributing in this way as a supplier, please mention the name of the Co-Op member in your email and we will list the member along with you.
